The game starts in Avalon Castle where a strange occurrence sends Arawn and friends on a world spanning quest. A new character named Decimus joins the cast and he first made his appearance in the Tears to Tiara animated series.
Decimus was a Imperial solider who fought with the Holy Empire commander named Gaius. Arthur killed Gaius in episode 18 of the series and Decimus eventually became a "good guy."
A new combat system dubbed the "Changeling System" allows for strategic considerations during battle by swapping party members. Magic circles may also be used during battle to impart special capabilities and functions to the party members such as healing or defense.
